Yes, OUTsurance will cover you if your windscreen is damaged or broken due to frost under this policy. This includes repair or replacement if they are cracked, chipped, or shattered. Additionally, We will cover the costs to fix scratches on the bodywork resulting from the broken glass.
In the event of an accident, we will cover the cost to repair or replace your car's windscreen or windows if they are damaged or broken. We will also pay to fix any scratches on the car's body caused by the broken glass. You will need to document the damage with photos
Yes if you have OUTsurance’s comprehensive car insurance cover then windscreen cover is included.
No third party fire and theft will not cover windscreen damage or any broken or damaged glass.
Yes, however if you opt for a repairer who is not on our approved list, the coverage is capped at €150 for replacement and €50 for repairs. If you use one of our approved repairer(s), we will cover the full cost of repairs or replacement.
Yes, you are covered due to damage from severe weather where a branch of a tree might fall and smash your windscreen if you have comprehensive car insurance with OUTsurance.
Do:
- Contact our claims team on 1800 600 400 within 48 hours but where possible, straight away.
- To assist us with validating your claim, please take as many photos as possible, at the scene and prior to being moved, if it is possible and safe to do so and retain all damaged property so that we can inspect it at one of our registered garages.
- If your claim involves a third party, please ensure you exchange details with them so we can communicate with them on your behalf. Look for their registration number and insurance details.
- Obtain the contact details of any independent witnesses who can assist us with validating your claim.
- Report the incident to the Gardaí or local law enforcement if outside of the Republic of Ireland.
Do not:
- Admit liability for the accident
- Leave the scene of the accident if the Gardaí have been called and are on the way or local law enforcement where abroad.
- Repair your vehicle before you have reported the incident to us.
